Beware the Cthulhu!

I kinda just love the name.  Cthulhu!

My second amigurumi down.  The tentacle nose on this sucker is harder than you’d think, thank you very much.

I made those eyes, too, just in case you were wondering.  From clay that I shaped and baked.  Booyah!

If you like this monster, you can find the pattern here.

Or, get the whole Creepy Cute book– these ghouls are super adorable.  Or extra adorable, as the 3 year old would say.  I’ve been informed that “extra” is better than “super.”

That IS adorable! We used to do the Cthulhu role playing games and they would totally freak me out! If I’d had one of those little guys, it would’ve been very reassuring.

I am impressed! How do you find time to do all this?

I ditto Amy’s question. When do you find the time and how much time does a little guy like that take?

It is adorable, and I love the green!

    He is super, extra cute!
And so is Caesar after his trip to the salon. Totally super extra.

Well, in terms of finding the time, they don’t really take much time at all. I usually just do them in front of the TV at night (depending on the show). These little guys really only take an hour or two to complete, if you know what you’re doing. So, it took me a while to figure out what I was doing, but now they go pretty quickly. They’re pretty small, too– next time I’ll put a kid in there for scale.

BTW, Becky and Amy, the fact that you know/knew about the Cthulhu is blowing my mind. :-)

Bethpc, I have this book and just finished making all of the chuthlu pieces, but am having a really tough time with the wings. After searching the net I have been unable to find any wing pics to help out, are you able to send a picture of his back so I can see the wings you made.

      I would really appreciate it.

So funny, Helper Monkey. I actually made the wings and they looked so funky that I never put them on. :-) But, here’s good news: there’s a video of how to crochet and attach the wings here: http://needlenoodles.com/home/node/152. Hope that helps!
