ZOMG

Holy moley, people, have you SEEN these new dealies from Williams Sonoma???

AND:

They just came out.  I HAD to have them.  So I shuttled the kids over to the mall, and nearly $70 later, both the cookie cutters and the pancake molds are now MINE.  They also have a cute kid’s apron that you can personalize, but I was already going over board with the molds and cookie decorating supplies.

So I made the pancakes this morning, on a school morning no less, because I could not wait.  I would like to tell you that the kids made me do it, but honestly, I just had to see what they were like.

If you do decide to get these molds, they are extra fun.  But I do have a tip or two:

  • don’t fill the molds too full
  • use a more liquidy batter so that it seeps into all the little points
  • use a squeeze bottle to fill in any areas that are missing batter

I put batter into the molds with a spoon, and then any spaces that didn’t have batter, I used a squeeze bottle to fill.  Is this excessive?  Probably.  But if you are going to make them, they might as well really look great.

Be careful when removing the mold; make sure the pancake is really starting to dry on top.  Oh, and be sure to spray the mold with cooking spray so that it slides out easily.

Here’s how Yoda and the Stormtrooper turned out:

The kids were out of their minds, but likely not as much as I was.  I cannot wait to make the cookies.

I know, I know! Those turned up on blogs this weekend, and I almost ordered them from WS online. I never buy anything from there, and there is a WS 20 minutes from my house. But I was overtaken by some kind of frenzy. So weird. I am going to go get the cookie cutters though. I predict lots of Star Wars bdays this summer!
