Most Beautiful Post: The Sweetness Melts My Heart
Beautiful in the figurative sense. I have lots of posts where I try to approximate good photography, but this is one that stands out to me as representing the beauty of parenting, which is always kind of mixed up with pain.
Most Popular Post: Remember These? 80s Braided Ribbon Barrettes
Hands down, the ribbon barrette tutorial post is the most popular post on my whole site. Who knew? There are plenty of these tutorials out there; I guess my photos and suggestions are exceptionally clear or something. It’s easily the cornerstone post of my entire site.
Most Controversial Post: The Four Year Old Struggles With Mortality
Well, this post wasn’t really all that controversial, at least from the comments section. But it was one of the first posts that I put out there where I worried about controversy. It was a kind of vulnerable moment; I was afraid some people might have criticized me for worrying my child about his parents’ deaths. People were great about it, though. I don’t really have any particularly controversial posts. I guess crafts aren’t that controversial?
Most Helpful Post: Tip of the Week: Kid’s Playing Card Holder
Well, I hope most of my posts are helpful, but I think this little homemade card holder is kind of brilliant. My sister-in-law taught me how to make them.
A Post Whose Success Surprised Me: The Martha Craft Challenge, Project 11: Pocketed Keepsake Book
Honestly, I’m continually surprised at the popularity of the ribbon barrette tutorial, but I was also pleasantly surprised by how many people reacted well to this post. It was a funny story, but I was so delighted when people would say they stumbled upon it and that it was the funniest thing they’ve ever read. That’s what keeps me going!
A Post I Didn’t Feel Got the Attention It Deserved: What I Do With My Day
I thought more people would comment on this post, where I kind of ponder the plight of the modern suburban housewife, working or not. The people who did comment were fantastic and really gave thoughtful comments. I guess I thought more people would want to chime in on the convo.
The Post I’m Most Proud Of: Sandpaper Crayon Tee
Ugh, this was the hardest one to come up with. I guess in some ways I’m proud of all my posts for different reasons. Actually going back and looking at them for this post made me realize I have some good ones out there. I chose this one, though, because I thought this tee turned out really well, and it was the first post where I made a stop-motion video. I’m pretty proud of my stop motion videos.
